History and Foundation:

The Peniel El Faro Christian Church, located in the El Faro Canton 5 kilometers from the municipality of Comasagua, La Libertad department, was founded on May 1, 2005. The initial worship services took place on the El Faro soccer field. After two months, a brother named Jesús Montes, who had already converted to the Lord, provided a space where he lived, and a makeshift structure was built there for worship services. Subsequently, permission was sought from the cooperative to build a church. Thankfully, they were granted a 5-year lease, and later, they were given another 5-year lease.

Church Construction:

Through a brother, and with the assistance of Pastor General Edgar Orlando Borja, efforts were made to obtain prefabricated materials. The municipality also contributed by donating 7 dozen sheets for the roof. With these resources, they constructed the church, classrooms, and kitchen. In 2008, the Child Development Center (CDI) was inaugurated with 95 children. After negotiations with Plan International, an agreement was reached to work together. Efforts were made to build new classrooms with the support of Brother Guardado, using prefabricated materials, to cater to the children and youth of the CDI.

Basic Instruction Center (CBI) and Other Developments:

In 2016, a CBI was established, serving 21 boys and girls, and it continues to serve the same number today. In 2018, efforts were made to acquire the land where the church is located. At the same time, a computer center equipped with 14 computers with internet was built, serving the CDI and CBI. Currently, the church serves a congregation of 80 people per service on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Soccer Tournament Project and Land Ownership:

In 2023, a soccer tournament was initiated with 12 teams of 8 participants each. Regarding the land, $3,000 has already been provided, but $2,000 is still owed for it to become the church's property. The community has actively participated in various activities, thus strengthening the sense of belonging and commitment.

Mission and Vision:

The mission of the Peniel El Faro Christian Church is to bring the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to every family in the communities, ensuring spiritual growth through the word of God. The vision is to become a church that provides security, peace, and harmony to families through spiritual and social assistance, all through the word of God.
